Here is just a few pics that basically sum up what Chad and I have been up to since Saturday. Although it took forever, I can't believe how straight the lines turned out! I was sad to see the green diamonds go that our dear friend Ashley put up when she lived here, but I am excited about putting all the bedding and colors together. Up next, a tree mural. Will post final product later!

Fall Fun & Changes
With the cool breezes of fall come new happenings in our life. That's probably what I love the most about it. I would say that other than slightly cooler temperatures, I've noticed a noticable change in our family...and not just because Mackenzie is on her way soon. There is this new thing happening with Alex and Gabby. They just seem to act more like two siblings running around chasing one another, playing games together...just being kids together. It's what I cherished the most of my childhood with my 4 brother and sisters...and it warms my heart to see Alex growing up to be a little boy, not just a baby brother. Also, with the new changes we are rapidly preparing for another child in this house. Gabby will be moving rooms. Our once navy playroom is now bright pink and almost ready for her to move in. It kinda makes me sad b/c the room she has now has always been her bedroom since the first day we moved in, now it will be Mackenzie's--which I am racking my brain trying to decide on a color and theme for. Feel free to offer suggestions.
We also have some pics from our recent trip out to Dewberry Farms. It was a fun little fam trip which has now become an official tradition that I look forward to every year. This year was even more fun b/c Alex was much more aware of everything. He especially liked the farm animals. Then afterward we went to Rainforest Cafe, Gabby's favorite restuarant. We did this last year. The only different thing was that we didn't consider Alex's reaction to the grunting gorillas and flashing thunder lights. Let's just say he did not enjoy his meal. In fact, he snuggled up on Chad's lap and nuzzled into his neck and refused to move. If Chad tried to take a bite of his sandwich, he would grab his face to shelter his eyes. He eventually feel asleep. But woke up in the car on the drive home. Then the rest of the trip home he would say, "The Monkies scare me." or "Monkies gone?" He gets cuter everyday!!!!

Chad turns 30, Gabby turns 5

Gabby's birthday breakfast.
Gabby ran up quite a ticket count on ski ball.
Girls just wanna have fun!!!
Phew!!! It's been a long month. If two big milestone birthdays weren't enough, hurrican Ike had to come and destroy all our big plans. We originally planned to have fam trip to Galveston the weekend of Chad's 30th. Needless to say, we made other plans. Chad's parents were gracious enough to let us have the family celebration at their house, even after they had been out of power for several days and had a little bit of water damage. I can't thank them enough for helping us throw Chad a great birthday...even though it wasn't a beach house in Galveston, it was still loads of fun. Then came Gabby's big day. She knew it too. I heard the phrase, "It's my birthday, I can do what I want." about a thousand times. But somehow I couldn't resist spoiling her. Her celebration started with a special birthday breakfast with pink frosting. Then Chuck E Cheese for lunch, followed by the Astros Game. Then the next day, Gabby had her party. ( A party that I would have killed for as a little girl.) Tinkerbell was the theme. Only girls were invited and they had manicures and did girly things like decorated art projects with jewels and glitter. I am still sweeping up glitter and beads. But a fun time was had by all. Every time September rolls around, I am reminded of how very lucky I am to have two wonderful people in my life: Chad and Gabby. I love them dearly and I'm sooo happy their mine.
